Family sessions range from 20 minutes to one hour, depending on what kind you book. 20-minute minis are pretty quick and I tend to get down to business, trying to get everyone to look at the camera and smile. I get as many different poses and combinations as I can, and try to capture candids as well. The longer the session, the more relaxed, playful, and storytelling it becomes. No matter what, we walk, we talk, we giggle, and we have fun!

I'm based in Sacramento, California and will travel within about 30 minutes of my home for local photo shoots. If you're outside of the area or desire more of an adventurous location, I'm more than happy to travel for a fee!

I'm happy to offer color and style suggestions, but often I tell clients to wear what makes them feel comfortable and beautiful. Sometimes it's easiest for mom to choose her outfit first and then style the kids and partners around it. Usually one or two patterns max, depending on how many people are being photographed. The clothes and colors should coordinate, but gone are the days of everyone being matchy-matchy. Feel free to have fun with accessories and wear a little heavier makeup than normal. If you have little kids, wear clothes and shoes that allow you to pick them up and move around.

You will receive a link to an online gallery of your photos within two weeks of the session. If you're doing a mini session, it's within two weeks after you have chosen your favorites. Sometimes it's less than that, depending on the season's busyness. You can download all your images from the gallery, but also share them, and order prints!

The number of photos depends on what kind of session you book. One-hour or sunset sessions include more than 60 images, sometimes more. Mini sessions usually include 10-20 images, depending on the season and type of mini session.
