Miss Caroline decided to enter the world a few weeks early and boy am I glad she did! She's perfectly healthy, beautiful and sweet. For less than two weeks old she's strong, alert and curious too. She didn't want to sleep much for her day in the spotlight, but eventually we wore her out. Her big brother, on the other hand, took a great nap and woke up happy and eager for his time in the spotlight with his little sis.
I've had a lot of people requesting mini sessions lately for a variety of reasons, so I'm offering a small 'Just Because Mini Session'. This session will be located within Capitol Park in a spot with a beautiful flower garden and ivy wall. There won't be a need for a lot of props or certain theme because of the beautiful, natural backdrop.
I often see babies one, two or even three times in between their newborn and one year sessions, so I'm not surprised at how much they've grown and changed and they usually remember me. That was not the case with Lily. This was my literally first time seeing her (in person and in photos) since she was a couple weeks old. She was a little skeptical of me at first and the looks she was giving me were hilarious, but after some flower tickles to her feet she warmed up and was flashing her toothy grin at me in no time.
This Lodi setting was beautiful and the couple's dog behaved like a champ for a few big sis pictures. We did what we could to avoid the rain, hiding under trees and in patios. Once we decided the rain probably wasn't going to stop they took me to the family vineyard with the tree where they got engaged in the background.
It's hard to believe a year ago I met this little guy for his newborn shoot. The baseball mitt we used for his one year photos is the same one that covered his entire body when he was just a couple weeks old. His hair is a lot lighter and he smiles all the time now, but otherwise he's still the same sweet, easy-going babe.
Pregnancy is such an incredible gift and the journey deserves to be celebrated and documented. Suzanne looked radiant in blue and her boys couldn't have been more proud and in love with her at that moment.
With the birth of their first son came a lot of challenges for Annie and Nick, so with their second they were hoping for something a little easier. That's what they got with Samantha. She a happy and healthy sweet baby girl and adjusting to life outside her mommy's belly rather well.
It's the first day of Spring and the perfect day to show you a sneak peek from Saturday's Vintage Spring and Easter Mini Sessions at McKinley and Land Parks. As I write this, I'm watching the rain fall outside my office window and I'm counting my blessings it held off a day!
